The Val de l'Indre community of municipalities has chosen to redevelop an area of the village of Vendoeuvres. It wished to adopt an urban planning and citizen consultation approach. An "Ecoquartier"® certification file was compiled during the
mission.
The mission included a study of the existing site and its constraints, development and pre-programming guidelines, and public consultation through workshops and public meetings.
The challenges of the project were to consolidate the heritage, urban and environmental qualities of the spaces. But also to stimulate a dynamic of sustainable economic renewal. The aim was to enhance the local economy and reveal the landscape and heritage buildings.
Located in a rural environment, the Vendoeuvres project is a fine example of planned rural urbanism, developed in consultation with the inhabitants. It is a tailor-made response to the many challenges facing rural areas, with all their specificities.
